Each\u00a0year our family travels north to be nourished and restored on this land. I\u00a0have traveled the\u00a0great world to Africa, Australia, Europe, Hawaii and crisscrossed our nation many times. \u00a0In spite of the beauty and intrigue of faraway lands,\u00a0I prefer to rest on the soft sands of our summer place than anywhere else. It is\u00a0my happy place. My comfort place. The place where, one day, my ashes will be set free to become one with the wind, the sand, the shores, and waves.<\/p>\n<p>On one of our dreamy\u00a0days last summer, I sat next to my 10-year-old daughter on the shore. \u00a0As I\u00a0flipped the final pages of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seekingthestill.com\/?p=745\">the book that started this 31 day series<\/a>, my daughter silently handed me a note.\u00a0 On it was a simple poem she wrote as we sat side-by-side. \u00a0She gave me permission to share it with you. \u00a0I hope her words speak generously to your heart and carry the same hope and comfort they give\u00a0me.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>The blue skies, the green lake<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <em> You and me, on the sliding bank.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>You take my hand, as we sit in the sand<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <em> And watch the land erode beneath us.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>The white clouds, showing their fluff<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <em> The hush of your voice<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <em> And that is enough.<br \/>\n&#8211; By Audrey Fleetwood<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Children have a way of seeing through distractions. \u00a0In our need to be busy and get things done, it&#8217;s easy to miss the simple beauty that surrounds us every second of every day. \u00a0Children put their touch on the unseen. \u00a0With simple faith, they trust, hope, and believe in ways that are easy to lose\u00a0as we age. \u00a0In living this quest of seeking the still, I am finding that some\u00a0of my greatest teachers are children. \u00a0It&#8217;s never too late to rediscover the heart of a child, but it takes patience and practice. In Matthew 19:14 Jesus says, \u201cLet the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Do yourself a favor today and see the world through the eyes of a child. You will be blessed.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #2d2d2d;\"><span style=\"line-height: normal; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.seekingthestill.com\/?page_id=700\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-694 alignleft\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seekingthestill.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/31days-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"31days\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/span><em>This series is not a tidy story of a fairy tale life. \u00a0It is\u00a0messy and truthful. \u00a0For 31 days, I will share pieces\u00a0of my journey, practical coping techniques for dealing with anxiety, spiritual insights,\u00a0emotional struggles, and a whole lot of other. \u00a0I will likely\u00a0\u00a0jump from here to there as the Spirit leads. \u00a0I invite you along\u00a0as\u00a0I share\u00a0my experience, my strength, and my hope.
