I feel alive when I write. \u00a0It is\u00a0the purest\u00a0water for my soul. \u00a0As I write these 31 days<\/a>, I’m learning that the craft of writing requires consistency as much as inspiration. \u00a0Artistic creation of any kind is not for the faint of heart. This act of bringing a new creation to the world\u00a0is really quite mysterious and curious, which is why I feel such kinship with my fellow writers. \u00a0My Aunt B., in particular, has been a mentor\u00a0for me in this regard. \u00a0She writes over at HarmonysPearls<\/a>, and she recently nominated me for the Sisterhood of Bloggers Award, which I accept wholeheartedly. \u00a0Thank you, Aunt B. \u00a0May the muse be ever in you.<\/p>\n

So here we go!<\/p>\n

Would you rather win an Oscar, Pulitzer, Nobel or other award? Why?<\/strong>
\nThe Pulitzer is an obvious choice, but that would require that I actually publish a work! \u00a0Does my ego wish for recognition? \u00a0Of course, that’s what the ego does. \u00a0However, the heartfelt texts, emails, and messages I have received during this 31 day series have meant far more to me than an award ever could. \u00a0To know that God is working through these words to\u00a0impact lives is humbling, and I choose to simply be grateful for that.<\/p>\n

What would be your dream job?
\n<\/strong>I would love to write full-time and speak for groups of women.\u00a0 I’d enjoy bringing Justin and my girls with me, especially if\u00a0it involved travel and exotic locations.<\/p>\n

What characteristics describe your husband, or\u00a0significant\u00a0other?
\n<\/strong>Justin is loyal, steady, strong, and dedicated. \u00a0He is methodical to my whimsy. \u00a0I have never once doubted his love for me or the girls. The song “Luckiest” by Ben Folds<\/a>\u00a0comes to mind when I think about my hubby.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your favorite place to vacation?
\n<\/strong>Arcadia, MI. \u00a0We have journeyed there every summer since Audrey was one, and don’t think we’ll\u00a0ever stop. \u00a0It is my heaven on earth. Our entire family has started joining us, so it just gets better and better. \u00a0There is magic on those shores, and one day my ashes will be set free there to mix with the water, wind, and shore for all time.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your greatest skill?<\/strong>
\nProblem solving, which is why my recent struggle has been such a challenge for me. \u00a0I couldn’t solve my way out.<\/p>\n

What was your first car?
\n<\/strong>A red Nissan Sentra. \u00a0I have no idea what year it was, but I bought it in college and it lasted forever. \u00a0Prior to that I drove my parents’\u00a0yellow and red Suburban, ancient Oldsmobile, and a white something or other whose make and model\u00a0I can’t recall.<\/p>\n

What were you like in high school?
\n<\/strong>Quiet. \u00a0Teacher’s pet. \u00a0Insecure. \u00a0Smart and conflicted. \u00a0I have no desire to ever go back to high school.<\/p>\n

Have you met a celebrity? \u00a0Who?
\n<\/strong>I recently attended a book launch party for author Emily Freeman<\/a> and also met her famous sister, The Nester (Myquillyn Smith)<\/a>. A few weeks ago, I met Jenny Simmons<\/a>, former lead singer of Addison Road. \u00a0Also, Justin’s cousin Dana Loesch<\/a> is an\u00a0American conservative talk radio host, television host at TheBlaze and author.<\/p>\n

Have you been on television?
\n<\/strong>Yes. \u00a0I was on the local STLTV channel for\u00a0the St. Louis Presents TV show with my friend Erin several years ago to promote our business Spark Workshops. \u00a0I was also interviewed on the radio, which was quite\u00a0fun. \u00a0I prefer radio studios to tv studios.<\/p>\n

What historical person would you like to invite to dinner?
\n<\/strong>Hellen Keller. \u00a0I was fascinated by her as a child.<\/p>\n
